Our Story and Commitment to our Patients:

Island Dentistry is a dental office that focuses on the dental health of children. The office has vibrant colors and has a warm tropical island theme. Dr. Lilly L. Geyer started Island Dentistry in 2006 as a brand new office and now serves over three thousand patients. There was a great need for a compassionate dentist who could care for the children on the Windward side. At Island Dentistry, our goal is to educate parents and children about the importance of oral hygiene and preventing future tooth decay. We want children to be accustomed to visiting the dentist and have a positive experience. Here at Island Dentistry For Children we wear colorful animated scrubs and fruit-flavored gloves.  We have colorful paintings, child-appropriate toys, books, two chalkboards, a fish tank, and the latest movies which can be watched in each treatment room and waiting room.  When children are done with their appointment, they receive a prize!  For children who are apprehensive, we take time to develop a trusting relationship with the patient and allow them to become accustomed to our dental office. We use only the latest dental equipment and technology, including brand new digital x-rays, dental chairs, and sterilization equipment.  We have both a digital x-ray machine for capturing intra-oral pictures and a digital panoramic machine that takes an image of a patient’s entire jaw and surrounding teeth. Digital x-ray machines display radiographic images instantaneously on a computer screen and emit 90% less radiation than traditional film-based x-rays.

Our philosophy at Island Dentistry is to treat all patients like they are a part of our family. Dr. Lilly Geyer received her B.S degree from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA and her D.M.D. degree from Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, PA. Most of her patients are children but she treats patients of all ages. Many parents and other adults also visit Dr. Lilly. She is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), as well as Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). She has taken hundreds of hours of continuing dental education courses and workshops. She has also attended the annual meetings for pediatric dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, endodontics, oral surgery, as well as sedation dentistry. Dr. Lilly enjoys spending her free time with her husband and two young children.

Dr. Keith Vodzak provides orthodontic treatment services at Island Dentistry.  Dr Keith received his D.M.D. degree, (Doctor of Dental Medicine - equivalent to a D.D.S.), from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dentistry in 1980.
